ABOUT The SMM Maritime Start-up Day & Night 2024

7th Maritime Start-up Day & Night // Winner is Ship projects // In cooperation with SMM Hamburg

Ship Projects from Lithuania emerged as the winner, and the aftershow party was a resounding success, bringing together numerous networkers and experts from the maritime industry. For the 2nd edition of the Maritime Start-up Day & Night at the SMM, 13 start-ups competed head-to-head. In categories like „Ship Operations / Management“, „Digital Ship“, „Ship Perfomance / Fuel Saving / Enviromental“ and „Portrait your company“, these young entrepreneurs showcased their innovative solutions and products to an international audience of industry professionals.

Our panel of maritime industry experts eventually selected the winner of the SMM Maritime Start-up Awards 2024. Congratulations to the outstanding Ship Projects team from Lithuania.

The night concluded with a lively aftershow party, where the winners were celebrated in style. The event drew in over 120 attendees and provided the perfect atmosphere for networking and exchanging ideas.

AIVeNautics

AIVeNautics, established on February 20, 2023, is a pioneering entity in the maritime digital and autonomous systems sector. As a maritime digital-tech-foundry, the company focuses on integrating state-of-the-art technologies such as AI, multi-sensor data fusion, maritime informatics, and the Maritime Connectivity Platform (MCP).

CargoKite

At CargoKite we have designed a new container ship class that is tailor-made for wind power. Our vessels are under 300 TEU and are designed for the shortsea and feeder markets. We utilize reliable, high-altitude winds of up to 300m to harness wind energy in virtually all weather conditions, in addition to an engine for all other scenarios.

Kadmos

NakAI Robotics

NakAI Robotics is underway to disrupt the shipping industry. Our B2B HaaS solution is a proactive cleaning robot of marine biofouling, that assures minimal vessels‘ drag and downtime, while dramatically improves ocean pollutions and compliance with new regulations – Enables up to 20% in cargo fuel savings, eliminates an average 10 lost days in ports, at least 30% reduction of GHG air pollutants, and up to 85% prevention in the introduction of aquatic invasive species.

Nauticworx

Oil & Gas majors, Offshore Wind Farm operators, Fleet owners, and Brokers frequently need regionally available vessels or charters quickly and cost-effectively. Nauticworx meets this need by offering a platform with real-time availability of validated ships for hire in specific areas and for charter inquiries. Brokers can use the platform to facilitate regional connections and transactions. Ship owners with idle vessels can find charter opportunities through Nauticworx, all while remaining anonymous.

Nordic Fender

Nordic Fender offers a wide range of marine fenders and pertaining equipment for various applications. Our wide range of products and services ensures you an optimal and cost effective partner within maritime protection.

The company leverages best-in-class satellite weather forecasts and AI enhanced voyage optimisation to support businesses with their operations.

NautilusLog

Founded in 2017, NautilusLog is a technology company headquartered in Hamburg, Germany. The aim is to digitize the maritime industry by replacing traditional paperwork with innovative digital solutions.

To that end, a simple and secure mobile app has been built, enabling maritime professionals to generate any sophisticated report within seconds. By doing so, you can smoothly manage a vessel’s complex operations, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, create joint tasks, plan actions, identify and mitigate risks, and meet ESG regulations.

The scope of work is to maintain and improve existing infrastructure and develop new solutions through innovation.

Vesselity

Vesselity Maritime Analytics is a German start-up that specializes in underwater ship inspections using Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and artificial intelligence. We developed a specialized underwater AI, that allows for instance segmentation approaches of video feeds below the surface.
We provide a global service of in-water surveys using lightweight micro ROV systems. Apart from ROV inspections, we specialized in marine fouling detection and monitoring of ship hulls.
