Review of our 4th Stammtisch at Digital Hub Logistics

At sunny weather we still got a good crowd of 45 people who met a digital hub logistics for our harbour birthday stammtisch edition. Karl Heinz Piotrowski from digital hub logistics was a great host and there was plenty of beer available during our Stammtisch. Later we had some stand up pitches from three maritime startup companies.

The main course was the discussion about the smartness of the port and how working conditions have changed in the last 20 years. Therefore we had Wiebcke Sieck from portagents and Jan Stein from the Hamburg Linesmen. The outcome was, that there is already much more digitalisation than 20 years ago and that planning and doing the work is much easier today than it was before. However, the main reason seems that there are nowerdays cellphones, smartphone and email communication and that there are public available information systems like vesseltracker or marinetraffic, that havent exist many years ago.
